What we do - WA

Alzheimer’s Australia WA provides specialised services to people with dementia, their families and carers, health and aged care professionals and the general community.

Services for people with dementia, their families and carers:
  • 24 hour helpline (1800 100 500) for advice and support;
  • Confidential information, support and counselling;
  • Living with Memory Loss program for people in early stages of dementia and their families;
  • Monthly Carer Support Groups;
  • Education workshops;
  • Behavioural intervention service to support carers of people with dementia;
  • Respite options including in-home, centre-based, host and friendship clubs;
  • Advice on assistive technology in dementia care; and
  • A library and resource centre.
Services for people working in health and aged care:
  • Nationally recognised workshops and courses; 
  • Specialised consultancy services on assistive technology, building and interior design;
  • Behavioural intervention service to support care staff working with people with dementia; and
  • A library and resource centre.
Services for the general community:
  • Free public seminars and workshops about dementia;
  • Mobile education service providing word recall memory tests, Brain Fitness program        try-outs and information for anyone concerned about their memory.
