Alzheimer’s Australia (Qld) offers a range of services for people with dementia, family carers, industry workers and anyone who wants to know more about memory loss, dementia or good brain health.

National Dementia Helpline 1800 100 500 offers information and support from trained advisors from 8.30am to 4.30pm weekdays.

About Dementia is a resource that lists our services in Queensland, you can also order a hard copy through the National Dementia Helpline.

Dementia Behaviour Management Advisory Service 1800 699 799 available 24 hours 7 days, provides clinical support, education and practical strategies for people caring for a person with dementia who is experiencing behaviours of concern that have an impact on their care.

Dementia and Memory Community Centres are located around the state and offer resources, support and activities for people with dementia, their families and anyone with memory concern

Free Community Education a wide range of topics for people interested in dementia, memory and healthy ageing throughout Queensland.

Living with Memory Loss is a free small-group program for people with early stage dementia who wish to take control of their lives and plan for their future.

Training Programs a range of specialised courses with nationally recognised qualifications for industry workers.

Support Groups a varied program of support groups and free activities for people living with Dementia, their carers and family.

Support for families and carers providing free counselling, information and support for people with dementia, their carers and family.

DBMAS

In Queensland the Dementia Behaviour Management Advisory Service (DBMAS) provides support for people caring for someone with dementia whose behaviour is having an impact on their care.

Living with Memory Loss Program

The Living with Memory Loss program is designed specifically for people in the early stages of dementia who want to share their experiences or feelings with others in the same situation. Participants are able to bring a carer, family member or friend with them if they like.

Counselling

Alzheimer’s Australia (Qld) provides free one-on-one counselling sessions for people affected by a diagnosis of dementia, including the person with dementia, their families and carers.

Information Sessions

Alzheimer’s Australia (Qld) offers special sessions throughout the year which provide a simple easy to understand introduction to dementia.
