Alzheimer's Australia SA provides a vast range of services to assist people living with dementia.

Alzheimer's Australia SA offers a wide range of support services for people with dementia, their families and carers.  Call the National Dementia Helpline to access all these services.

The services we can provide include: 

National Dementia Helpline

We have professional staff available to provide up-to-date information about dementia and other associated issues.  Further information about all of our services can be obtained by calling the National Dementia Helpline on 1800 100 500.

Advice and Counselling

Counsellors are available to provide advice, support and advocacy, on an individual basis or as a family group.  We can provide this over the phone, as an office visit or at your home.  

Living with Memory Loss Program

Living with Memory Loss is a national program, for people newly diagnosed with dementia and their family or carer. The program covers topics associated with early diagnosis, as well as encouraging interaction with others at a similar stage.   

Carer Education & Support Program

Courses for carers are run regularly throughout the state and provide information and opportunities for discussion and support in a relaxed atmosphere. Ongoing Support Groups meet once a month in a number of suburban and regional locations. 

Safe Return Program

South Australia's Safe Return Program provides peace of mind for those who care for people who wander and may become confused. 

DBMAS

The Dementia Behaviour Management Advisory Service (DBMAS) aims to improve the quality of life of people with dementia and their carers by providing a support service to assist in managing behaviours commonly associated with dementia.  

Dementia Link Workers

Multicultural & Indigenous Services

Services including Carer Education courses and printed information are continually being extended to meet the needs of ethnic and indigenous communities.  

Library

An extensive range of books, videos and activity aids related to dementia care is available to members. See our Library portal for more information.
