Living with memory loss program - WA
The Living with Memory Loss Program is designed for people in the early stage of dementia and their support person (family members or friends).
The two-hour education, information and support workshop is held once a week over six weeks and is followed by monthly ongoing support group meetings.
Participants will have an opportunity to:
- Obtain information about dementia and have questions answered;
- Discuss experiences and express feelings in a safe and confidential environment;
- Focus on maintaining and enhancing skills and abilities; and
- Explore ways of managing for the present and into the future.
Format
The program is offered in the following formats:
- Two-hour sessions on a weekly basis (six weeks);
- Sessions held over two days; or
- As a retreat (regional clients and younger onset clients only).
