CHCAC319A - Dementia Competency
This Certificate III unit is aimed at anyone working in aged care, community care or respite services (particularly workers who have Certificate III in Aged Care but have not completed the dementia specific component).

This course includes the following subjects:

  • What is dementia?
  • The impact of dementia
  • The nature of dementia
  • Effective communication
  • Using person-centred care to support activities for living and pleasure
  • Working positively and effectively with behaviours of concern
  • Workplace issues and support services

Successful participants will gain the nationally recognised Dementia Competency CHCA319A. Participants receive a statement of attainment and a workbook.
