Alzheimer's Australia Dementia Research Foundation

Alzheimer’s Australia Dementia Research Foundation (AADRF) aims to promote, disseminate and fund Australian research into dementia.

Alzheimer's Australia Reseach was established as the research arm of Alzheimer’s Australia to promote, fund and disseminate research into Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

In 2011, the name was changed to Alzheimer's Australia Dementia Research Foundation to better reflect the purpose and mission of the Company.

AADRF administrates an annual Dementia Grants Program, providing research grants, scholarships, and fellowships to promote Australian dementia research. A key priority is to support emerging researchers and encourage the next generation of dementia researchers.

AADRF promotes research into all aspects of dementia, including:

  • Better understanding of causes of dementia
  • Better understanding of the disease process
  • Prevention or delay of dementia
  • Development of a cure for dementia or a way to slow down the progress of the disease
  • Finding the best ways of caring for people with dementia and supporting their families and carers.

The Alzheimer's Australia Dementia Research Fondation Information brochure and the publication Investing in a future without dementia provides more information about the activites of AADRF.

Donations to AADRF are used to fund Australian research into dementia. When you make a donation to AADRF you will be helping to support the next generation of dementia researchers through the provision of research grants, postgraduate scholarships, and postdoctoral fellowships.
