Chris Turner aims to raise $6,962 for Alzheimer’s Australia when he walks solo from the Pacific Coast of Chile to the base of Aconcagua in Argentina – a distance of over 220 kilometres. Once there, Chris will join up with a climbing expedition & attempt to summit Aconcagua. In all, Chris will have walked over 300 kilometres & ascended 6,962 metres, it is thought that this is the first time that this “sea to summit” ascent of the highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere has been attempted

Chris’s preparation, training and thoughts will be documented on the website www.seatosentinel.net. During his journey his progress can be monitored live on the same website.

The passing of a close family member of Chris’ who suffered from Alzheimer’s, and having several other family members currently suffering from the disease, has inspired Chris to achieve something more than the physical challenge with this venture.

Chris’ support enables Alzheimer's Australia to increase the level of research into dementia care, prevention and cure and gives hope to people with dementia, their families and carers.
