Currently an estimated 267,000 Australians live with dementia and without a major medical breakthrough, this number is expected to soar to about 943,000 by 2050. An estimated 1.2 million Australians are caring for someone with dementia.
Alzheimer’s Australia National Office, based in Scullin, ACT works closely with all States and Territory offices to improve the quality of life for people with dementia, their families and carers. Our role is to support a range of Program, Policy, Information and Community Awareness initiatives including management of the National Dementia Support Program, an initiative of the Australian Government.
