Alzheimer's Australia's Strategic Intent
Alzheimer's Australia's strategic plan has four key result areas;
Priority One:
Improving advocacy & empowering consumers
- Increased engagement, participation & input from consumers
- Ensuring consumers have a voice and that they are heard.
Priority Two:
Ensuring better quality dementia care
- Capacity building in mainstream services in the health and community care system to ensure quality responses for people with dementia, their families and carers
- Growing the continuum of care to effectively support people with dementia, their families and carers
- Developing models of care to provide quality supports for people with dementia, their families and carers
- Developing effective risk assessment to support people with dementia.
Priority Three:
Increasing the awareness and understanding of dementia
- Ongoing development and implementation of effective information and education strategies for individuals, service providers, the community and government
- Building the evidence base through research to inform the awareness and understanding of dementia.
Priority Four:
Identifying effective strategies for preventing and delaying the onset of dementia
- Increasing the focus on brain health to reduce the risk of the onset of dementia
